Lucia di Lammermoor torna in Scozia
Thanks to Fondazione Teatro San Carlo, Sintesi Studio had the privilege to design a special volume dedicated to Lucia di Lammermoor, a masterpiece of the classical opera. The book is produced by Teatro San Carlo and available in limited numbers: it can be purchased on request.
Brief · Analysis
From the world's ancient opera stage, Lucy comes back to Scotland: a docufilm which celebrates Gaetano Donizetti and Walter Scott and the final masterpiece “Lucia di Lammermoor”. Sintesi Studio has been commissioned to design a book about the docufilm. This project has been promoted by The San Carlo Theatre, in Naples, together with the Scottish Opera and the Abbotsford Trust, in Scotland.
Rationale · Design
At Sintesi Studio, our intent was to tell the story of “Lucia di Lammermoor” and its magnificent journey not only with pictures and texts, but also through colors: the delicate pastel color palette is a tribute to the Scottish lands. Three circular holes in the dust jacket of the book are the keyholes through which it's possible to see the main steps of this story, that began in 1819 and has reached our days.
Output · Result
The journey of Lucy, from the “Bride of Lammermoor” (1819) to the final docufilm (2021) is a journey through lands, cities, countries and people. Sintesi traveled through images, colors and shapes to recreate a new world into a book. The result is a book which features an elegant and modern design that tells an ancient story between Naples and Scotland.
